During the recording of Translucid (2021) I bumped across a beautiful guitar sound that became the canvas for a 45-minute session. Possibly all recorded in one night (I can't remember for sure), these outtakes have been passing through my head every once in a while, making me increasingly sad that they could never speak to other ears than mine. To me, they form a dreamy world full of soft shimmers and distorted outbursts. A warm and welcoming world, but also capricious and easy to get lost in.

There are six pieces on the album, full of feedback, loops and some tape effects. I remember recording at Volta, I think I had my Richwood hollow body plugged into two amps: a Yamaha B100 bass amp with a big Fender cabinet, and a Marshall stack that I mostly used for its beautiful reverb. The hollow body and the bass amp are just magic together, playing with this setup makes me feel they were made by the same hands. The sound of that combination is so well-balanced, full of depth and clarity, heavy but crystal clear. Actually, now that I listen more closely, the first piece, "Moon Gardens", was probably recorded on a different guitar during a different session. I finished the album by sending it through my analog mixing desk and a tape echo. This music is raw, pure and it's now out there for ears to enjoy it. It's meant to play loud, I love it and I hope you do too.
